FAQs: What is the PTA?
According to the National Parent Teacher Association (PTA), "the PTA's mission is to make every child's potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children". The Borel PTA is dedicated to complimenting the educational experience of every child that attends Borel Middle School. The Borel PTA is a member of the San Mateo Foster City PTA Council with each of the twenty schools within the District represented by their respective PTA officers. Each PTA is a registered 501(c)3 organization and is staffed 100% by volunteers. Membership is open to any family that would like to participate.
The Borel PTA includes an Executive Board that meets monthly during the school year. The Executive Board is responsible for governing the organization including the appropriation of funds and strategic leadership. The Borel PTA prides itself on partnering with administrative and teaching staff at the school to maximize the PTA's effectiveness in enhancing the education of every child. Each fundraiser and program is headed by Event Chairs that are responsible for the budget and execution of their respective event. Please refer to this page for a list of your PTA leaders. Looking to get involved? See "How do I get involved" in the Common Questions.
Amazing programs, hosted by PTA, continue to ask for your help to get off the ground. To sign up, visit BorelBobcats.org/volunteer as we are constantly looking for volunteers.
Check out the leaders' page here and reach out to the chair directly if there's a program or fundraiser you'd like to be involved in.
